A devastating accident in Palm Beach County has claimed the lives of nine family members,
leaving a community in shock and mourning.
The tragedy occurred when a Ford Explorer carrying ten people—
four adults and six children—lost control on a sharp curve,
crashed into a guardrail, overturned, and sank into a canal.
Among the victims were a beloved grandmother,
her daughter, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The youngest was just under two years old.
The SUV was designed for seven passengers but was carrying ten,
and tragically, none were wearing seatbelts.
One young man, the only survivor,
risked his life diving into the water multiple
times to pull out as many family members as he could before rescuers arrived.
His bravery brought a small glimmer of hope in a moment of unbearable loss.
