Many Notice Disturbing Detail On Stage At Charlie Kirk’s Memorial

As hundreds of thousands came to commemorate the memory of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, several of the events grabbed headlines.

From Elon Musk’s unexpected presence to Erika Kirk’s heartfelt pardon of the alleged murderer to Donald Trump’s address.

However, there was another aspect of the stage that attracted notice, which many found unsettling.

Something rarely seen at an indoor event

Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was honored on Sunday by large crowds, and his memorial service drew one of the largest public gatherings ever for a private individual.

According to Fox News, approximately 90,000 people attended the tribute, with 70,000 of them packing State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, to capacity.

The memorial was also streamed live on Rumble under the title “Building A Legacy, Remembering Charlie Kirk.” The event drawn over 100,000 online viewers even before it started and as people tuned in, many took to social media to point out one striking detail on stage.

Viewers observed that the podium in the middle of the stage was encircled by bulletproof glass as musicians performed before speeches by well-known political personalities.

According to Ladbible, one user on X wrote, “The podium at Charlie Kirk’s funeral is enclosed in bulletproof glass, something rarely seen at an indoor event.”

Another added, “Interior events do not normally use bullet proof glass, but at the Charlie Kirk memorial, security is next level.”

A third remarked, “The podium is thankfully enclosed by bullet proof glass for Charlie Kirk’s celebration of life. What have we become?”

Released a video

Naturally, the bulletproof glass around the main stage was a security precaution that has been commonplace at presidential gatherings since Donald Trump was assassinated last year.

”It breaks my heart that even at a memorial service, we need bulletproof glass to protect people from potential attacks. But in a way, it also shows the strength of this movement—no matter the threats, people still showed up by the tens of thousands to stand together. That’s courage,” another person wrote on Facebook.

Nearly the whole Cabinet sat in the front row, while Trump and a number of other senior administration officials subsequently watched the service from a suite that was also protected by bulletproof glass.

Critics contend that the inability of elected officials to interact with the public in a safe manner without physical barriers exposes a widening gulf between the people they represent and prompts grave concerns about the long-term implications of this trend for democracy.

However, in a society like the United States, which has regrettably seen far too many political killings and assassination attempts over the years, security is unquestionably vital.

In the wake of her husband’s death, Erika Kirk released a video condemning the “evildoers” behind the assassination. She warned, “They should all know this: If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you just have unleashed across this entire country, and this world.”

She continued: “In a world filled with chaos, doubt and uncertainty, my husband’s voice will remain and it will ring out louder and more clearly than ever.”

Erika also made a unique hand gesture when standing close to Donald Trump that many people were curious about. You can learn more about it here.

Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed on September 10 while giving a speech at Utah Valley University as part of his American Comeback Tour, a series designed to get college students to debate contentious issues.

After starting Turning Point USA at the age of 18, Kirk rose swiftly to prominence as a prominent conservative. However, his vocal opinions on topics like race, LGBTQ problems, and gun rights often provoked criticism from both left-leaning and non-leftist detractors.
