Popular Butter Brand Recalled as FDA Issues Its Official Classification

Cabot Creamery’s 8oz Sea Salted Extra Creamy Butter has been pulled from shelves in seven states after tests revealed elevated coliform bacteria levels.

Though the FDA classified the recall as low-risk (Class III),

it’s the latest in a string of food safety issues.

Only 17 packages made it to stores—all in Vermont—

and no illnesses have been reported. Still, consumers were quick to express frustration over yet another recall,

Frito-Lay recalled some 13oz bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Chips due to accidental mixing with the nacho cheese variety,

which contains undeclared milk—posing a danger to those with allergies.

Sold across 13 states, under 1,300 bags were affected, and no allergic reactions have been reported.

.Tuna Recall over Deadly Toxin

RiskTri-Union Seafoods issued a recall of several Genova®, Van Camp’s®,

H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s canned tuna products due to a lid defect that could cause botulism, a potentially fatal illness.

While no illnesses were reported, the defect could compromise the cans’ seal.

Consumers were urged to discard affected products and seek medical care if symptoms occurred.
