Authorities in Arizona confirmed that search teams were redirected late yesterday
after Nancy Guthrie’s family dog unexpectedly broke free from temporary containment
and ran several kilometers toward the Rillito River corridor.
According to law enforcement sources,
the animal had been kept under supervision at
a relative’s residence while investigators
continued processing evidence connected to Nancy’s disappearance.
Witnesses reported that the
dog appeared unusually agitated before slipping
its collar and sprinting away.
Family members attempted to follow
but quickly lost sight of it as it moved with apparent urgency
through residential streets and open terrain.
Officers were notified and tracked the
direction of travel using patrol vehicles and drone support.
