Brother of mom k* lled in Hudson River helicopter crash speaks out

On April 10, a devastating helicopter crash in New York claimed the lives of a Spanish family and their pilot.

The victims were Agustín Escobar, a Siemens executive from

Barcelona, his wife Merce Camprubi Montal, their three children (ages 11, 5, and 4),

and pilot Sean Johnson, a former Navy SEAL.

The family had just arrived in the city,

and the sightseeing tour was a birthday gift for one of the children.

Tragically, the helicopter plunged into the

Hudson River after Johnson radioed that the aircraft was low on fuel.

Witnesses said parts of the helicopter, including the main rotor blade,

appeared to detach mid-air before the crash.

All six passengers died on impact.

Merce’s brother, Joan, traveled

to New York to identify the bodies and shared an emotional tribute to the family

vowing to keep their memory alive. The cause,

of the crash is still under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

Maintenance records show the aircraft had recently been inspected and had flown multiple times that day.

The tour company, New York Helicopter, expressed deep sorrow.

Its owner, Michael Roth,

stated the pilot had radioed for fuel and was expected to return in minutes, but never did.

The tragedy has left a deep impact on all who knew the victims and those involved.
