In 2018, Kaylee Muthart, a young woman from Anderson, South Carolina,
experienced a life-altering mental health crisis during a period of substance abuse.
What started as marijuana use in high school eventually led to an addiction to methamphetamine, culminating in a severe psychotic episode.

Kaylee suffered a traumatic injury that resulted in permanent blindness.
The event marked a dramati,
turning point in her life. Following her recovery, she committed to sobriety,
began working in a local restaurant, and returned to school to continue her education.
Recently, she faced a setback when she lost her job after taking,
eftover food to help feed a stray cat and her kittens.
Despite the outcome,
Kaylee remained firm in her decision, stating,
“I could walk away knowing I did what I believed was right.
”Now living with prosthetic eyes,
Kaylee reflects on her journey with resilience and gratitude. She acknowledges,
the challenges but expresses a deep sense of peace and clarity in her life today.
“I’d rather be blind than dependent on drugs,”
