A normal job, a trusted boss, an intern who didn’t quite fit the script—and suddenly, nothing felt normal anymore.

Whispers thickened into certainty. His wife called.

One sentence from her shattered everything we’d buil…

We thought we were being observant, even protective.

In reality, we were architects of a fiction that felt more solid than fact. Every late meeting became evidence,

every closed door a verdict, every quiet laugh a confirmation of a story we’d already chosen.

By the time his wife said, “I already know,” we weren’t just wrong—we were exposed. Not as villains, but as humans who found comfort in the quickest explanation, not the truest one.
