My Husband Developed an Entitled Attitude After He Was Promoted

They say power reveals character. When my husband got promoted to assistant warehouse manager, it didn’t just boost his ego—

it transformed our home life, and not in a good way.

Suddenly, he expected silence on his days off,

even from our 4-year-old. He demanded hot meals the moment I walked in from my 12-hour shifts at a behavioral health facility,

treating me more like a maid than a partner. One night, he woke me up at 11 p.m. to make him ice cream—

with chocolate drizzle and cashews. That was my breaking point.

So I planned a dinner the next Sunday—his family, a few friends, his favorite meal.

As dessert was served, I raised my glass and toasted his promotion. Then,

I laid it all bare. I told them how he demanded silence, dismissed my work, and treated me like a servant.

The room went silent. He stormed out without a word

.Hours later, he came back—no arrogance, just regret.

“I talked to my dad,” he said. “He told me I was being a damn fool.

And I finally listened.” He apologized,

deeply and sincerely, and asked for a chance to change.

The next morning, I woke up to the smell of burnt eggs.

He was in the kitchen, cooking breakfast for the first time, our daughter watching him proudly.

He looked at me, smiled sheepishly, and said,

“It’s a start. I’ll learn the rest. I promise.”
