Tensions Escalate: Trump Justifies Attack On Iran Amid Harrowing Response From Iranian Government

President Donald Trump claims that the United States launched missiles at areas of Iran during the night.

Since Trump’s US military support Israel, Iran’s neighbour in the Middle East, and Iran is currently engaged in a war with Israel, their engagement was inevitable given the conflict’s lack of end in sight.

Trump announced this major news to the world via Truth Social, writing: “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordo.”

“All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Iran’should make peace immediately – otherwise they’ll get attacked again,’ the 79-year-old said in a later phone conversation (via The Mirror).

‘Outrageous, terribly dangerous, lawless and illegal behaviour’ is how Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi described this attack in a social media post.

“The United States, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, has committed a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT by attacking Iran’s peaceful nuclear installations,” he said on Twitter.

“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences. Each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior. In accordance with the UN Charter and its provisions allowing a legitimate response in self-defense, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people.”

The missile strike, which involved planes dropping specialist “bunker busters” and submarines launching 30 Tomahawk bombs, was also recognised by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Starmer emphasised in a statement the “severe threat to international security” posed by an atomic base buried 60 meters into a mountainous area in Fordo.

“Iran’s nuclear programme is a grave threat to international security,” the PM said this morning (June 22).

“Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon and the US has taken action to alleviate that threat. The situation in the Middle East remains volatile and stability in the region is a priority.”

“We call on Iran to return to the negotiating table and reach a diplomatic solution to end this crisis.”

Using X, Reform UK leader Nigel Farage also supported Trump’s decision to explode, saying, “Iran must not be allowed to have nuclear weapons, the future of Israel depends on it.”

Jonathan Reynolds, the business secretary, told Sky News that although the UK was not directly responsible for the assaults, it was clear that they would occur.

He went on to add, “We support the prevention of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. We had proposed a diplomatic course of action, as other European countries had done. The Iranians had rejected that. And I know people will be waking up this morning, and they’ll be worried. They’ll want to know what this means.”
