The real reason Trump won’t attend Bezos and Sanchez’s wedding, even though he was invited

Trump Skips Bezos-Sanchez Wedding in Venice

The President Cites Scheduling Conflict

Donald Trump has declined an invitation to attend the highly anticipated wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, set to take place tomorrow, June 28, in Venice, Italy.

According to The Telegraph, Trump was on the official guest list but turned down the invite due to scheduling conflicts. Meanwhile, his daughter Ivanka Trump, her husband Jared Kushner, and Donald Trump Jr. are all expected to attend.

A Star-Studded Affair in Venice

Although the ceremony happens tomorrow, festivities have already kicked off, with guests arriving for what’s expected to be a five-day celebration.

A-listers such as Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, Orlando Bloom, and Leonardo DiCaprio have been spotted in the romantic city.

Despite some last-minute changes, the wedding is moving forward in full swing.

Venue Change Amid Anti-Bezos Protests

However, the couple faced a major hiccup ahead of the big day.

Protests by a group called “No Space for Bezos” forced them to change their wedding venue. The group opposes the Amazon founder’s presence in Venice, citing concerns about overtourism and its impact on the city.

Still, the wedding plans continued without delay.

Wedding Invitation Sparks Online Backlash

Ahead of the event, a copy of the wedding invitation leaked online—and it quickly drew attention.

The invite asked guests not to bring gifts. Instead, Bezos and Sanchez said they would donate to several Venetian causes, including:

UNESCO Venice Office (cultural preservation)

CORILA (lagoon habitat restoration)

Venice International University (sustainability research)

While the message was thoughtful, social media users mocked the design.

“This invite was proudly sponsored by Microsoft Paint and zero adult supervision,” one person joked.

Another added, “Money can’t buy taste. That invite was made on Canva during Bezos’ 11-minute space trip.”

A High-Profile Wedding Without a The President

Although Trump won’t be attending, his family will be there to celebrate alongside Hollywood’s elite. Meanwhile, the Bezos-Sanchez wedding continues to attract both admiration—and critique—as it unfolds in one of the world’s most iconic cities.
