Bill Clinton Breaks His Silence on Donald Trump’s Administration — Here’s His Take

Bill Clinton Gets Candid: What He Really Thinks About Trump and Biden

Former President Bill Clinton didn’t hold back in a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning. Sitting down for a wide-ranging conversation on June 1, 2025, he shared his thoughts on Donald Trump’s leadership style — and gave a rare take on Joe Biden’s health and time in office.

Let’s break down what he said and why it’s sparking conversations across the country.

“There Are Limits to Trump’s Power”

When asked if anyone was holding President Trump in check, Clinton answered without hesitation:
“Oh yeah.”

He pointed to the courts — even ones filled with Trump-appointed judges — as a major line of defense.

Clinton explained that while Trump may try to dodge legal rulings, doing so won’t be easy. And if he does manage it, both he and the country could suffer the consequences.

A Leadership Style That Divides

Clinton didn’t mince words about Trump’s approach.

“We’ve never seen anything like this before in my lifetime,” he said.

He described Trump as someone who wants his personal views to become law, saying:
“It’s my way or the highway.”

According to Clinton, most Americans simply don’t agree with that mindset — and it’s showing.

Paying the Price for Name-Calling
Clinton believes Trump’s aggressive behavior has taken a toll.
“He’s paid a price for this name-calling and throwing his weight around,” he said.

And what is that price?
“It’s made him less popular,” Clinton replied.

He also criticized Trump for pushing law firms away from federal work just because they held different views.
“That ain’t America,” he said.
“We’ve never done that.”

Clinton’s Message: Time to Come Together
Clinton called for unity and cooperation.
He believes Americans need to protect the nation’s legacy — not tear it apart.

“What unites us matters more,” he emphasized.
He urged people to work together with calmness and mutual respect.

On Biden’s Health: “I Thought He Was a Good President”
The conversation then shifted to President Joe Biden and concerns about his age.
Clinton didn’t dodge the question.

He acknowledged a book, Original Sin, which claimed people close to Biden noticed mental and physical decline. But Clinton wasn’t convinced.

“No,” he said.
“I thought he was a good president.”

Clinton admitted the job is hard — especially for someone nearing 86 — but said he never walked away from a meeting thinking Biden couldn’t do it.
“He was always on top of his briefs,” Clinton added.

Leaked Audio Raises Eyebrows
Just days earlier, recordings from Biden’s 2023 interviews with Special Counsel Robert Hur resurfaced.
Each interview lasted about three hours.

In the recordings, Biden appeared confused, forgot key dates — including his son’s death — and paused often as his lawyers stepped in.

The audio went viral, triggering a wave of concern on social media.

Internet Reacts with Sadness and Frustration
Some people were heartbroken.
“This is horrifying,” one user posted.
“It’s just plain sad,” another added.

Others pointed fingers — not at Biden himself, but at those around him.
One commenter, identifying as a Republican, showed sympathy.
“It’s like asking someone without legs to walk,” they wrote.

Many felt Democratic leaders, the media, and even Biden’s family should have stepped in sooner.

The Big Picture: What Now?
Between Clinton’s comments and Biden’s leaked audio, one thing is clear: the conversation around leadership in America is heating up.

People are asking big questions about power, age, and responsibility.
Can a single person wield too much power?
And how old is too old to lead?

Clinton’s words struck a nerve — not just because of who said them, but because they echo what many Americans are already wondering.
