Anne Burrell’s Final Instagram Moments Surface Days Before Her Sudden Passing

Days before her untimely death, Anne Burrell made her last Instagram post.

The celebrity chef passed away yesterday, June 17, at the age of 55, according to the announcement. After Burrell was found unconscious in her New York apartment, it is believed that she passed away suddenly. She was tragically declared dead at the scene.

Burrell’s most well-known roles were co-host of Worst Cooks in America, which ran for an incredible 28 seasons, and host of television programs including Secrets of a Restaurant Chef.

According to a 911 call that PEOPLE was able to get, it is thought that she had a cardiac arrest; however, the cause of death has not been formally confirmed by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner.

Javier, Burrell’s son, and Sturart Claxton, her husband of four years, survive her.

A few days prior to her passing, Burrell posted a happy picture of herself with “The Green Lady of Brooklyn,” a famous figure in New York, to her Instagram profile.

Burrell penned next to the sweet selfie: “I ran into @greenladyofbrooklyn in my neighborhood today!! I’m not going to lie- I have been keeping an eye out for her. I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!!”

Condolence responses have flooded in on what was once a happy post.

One of her fans wrote, “This can’t be true. Chef Anne you were vivacious, hilarious, full of life and reminded me of my Mom. I’m so so sorry. Rest with the Angels in Heaven and cook up a storm for us.”

“Rip Anne. You brought so much light to Food Network. Worst Cooks is still one of my favorite shows,” said another.

Somebody else penned in tribute to the late chef: “I’ll always tuck my finger in when using a knife because of you! Fly high Anne. There’s a new star shining bright tonight.”

“You will be missed tremendously! Sending love to all family and friends,” a different person wrote.

‘A loving wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend’ was how Burrell’s family characterised her in a statement.

“Her smile lit up every room she entered,” the moving statement continued. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world.”

“Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
