A lady is humiliated by her father’s wheelchair and doesn’t want him to escort her down the aisle. She reconsiders her choice after seeing him on TV a few days before the wedding.

Edward, Lisa Terrell’s father, raised her when her mother died when she was two. Caroline Terrell perished in a storm years before, destroying their house and left Edward wheelchair-bound.

Edward raised Lisa with affection and gave her the best, no matter what. After his injuries, he worked remotely as a famous journalist to support them.

Most people didn’t know Lisa had a father until he surprised her at school.

Lisa often told her friends that her father was too busy to spend time with her and never attended school or parent meetings. Lisa was embarrassed by Edward and didn’t want her friends to see him, so the invites never reached him.

She loved her father as a child, but seeing him in a wheelchair horrified her and destroyed their relationship.

“Yes? Honey, what is it? Edward asked. “Are the wedding costs bothering you? We could utilize my bonds if so. I saved it for you…

“No, dad! Just that,” Lisa hesitated, “Harrison and I plan to marry in New York, but the larger hotel is a concern. I believed you shouldn’t attend the event. There would be too many visitors!”

Edward glanced at Lisa, dumbfounded, losing his grin. “I don’t understand… What’s wrong?

Lisa sighed and watched him. Dad, it’s simply that… Exclusive businesspeople and high-class visitors will attend. Imagine a wheelchair-bound dad leading his daughter down the aisle. Do not know… It’s strange.”

“A wheelchair-bound man is weird?” Edward became emotional. He couldn’t believe Lisa was implicitly excluding him from the wedding. He took the cue and smiled, disguising his emotions from her.

Is that it? You’re correct! His age is catching up with him, he added, feigning laughter. I may not manage such a massive gathering. It’s okay!”

“Thanks for understanding, dad,” Lisa stated plainly and headed to her room. She dissed Edward without considering his years of love and care, although she later regretted it.

The emcee disclosed Edward’s identity on “American Heroes” a few days later. She was confused when she saw her father with the presenter on TV.

Soon later, the camera focused on a screen showing Edward in a wheelchair and the city’s previous storm. He was one of the heroic journalists who saved his family and neighbors during the crisis.

Edward told the narrative of how he helped others, particularly his family, with a somber face.

I’ll never forget that day. He described the devastating loss of almost everything. “The accident killed my wife and two-year-old daughter. When rubble dropped around us, I saw my daughter standing beneath it.

“I ran to save her and took her into my arms, but a large section of the ceiling cracked and crashed on my back, causing a spine injury that prevented me from walking again.”

Lisa’s mouth dropped and tears fell as she heard it. “Dad saved me?” She was surprised.

“It was hard for me,” Edward said. “But you can’t avoid fate. I collected confidence, knowing I couldn’t give up in life, particularly because my kid was now dependent on her father.”

Lisa felt very ashamed. She sobbed after Edward’s interview, condemning herself for being a bad daughter, and determined to apologize.

On her wedding day, she walked down the aisle with Edward, but her guests needed to hear something crucial before the ceremony.

She kneeled and embraced Edward, who was seated among the guests, as she took the microphone near the altar. “I know this is one of the most important days of my life, and I’ve been waiting for it for so long!” she said, gripping his hands. “But none of this would have been possible without my father.”

“Since mom died, dad never mentioned how hard it was to raise me alone. He had bad days, but he never showed me. But I did what? His wheelchair made me humiliated, therefore I was going to delete him from the wedding list. Yes, exactly!”

“If I had known dad is in a wheelchair because he hurt his back saving me, I would never have done that. I hurt the guy who loves me most!”

I’d want to apologize to him today in front of everyone. Father, I apologize for being the worst daughter,” she said, facing him. “You can hate me forever. I’m sorry.”

Edward didn’t expect Lisa to own her error. Seeing his daughter acknowledge her mistake startled and moved him, so he forgave her.

“Oh, come here,” he shouted, holding her. “Everyone makes mistakes,” he remarked. But if you admit them and repair them, you should be forgiven.”

Everyone cried and praised the touching reunion.
