Devastating Accident at Work Takes Lives of Father and His Two Young Girls

A Nebraska community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 32-year-old Dylan Danielson and his two daughters, Hayven, 12, and Fayeah, 8, after a catastrophic explosion at Horizon Biofuels on July 29, 2025.

Dylan, the only employee on shift, had brought his girls to work that day.

They were in the break room when a dust fire triggered a massive blast,

collapsing the room. Dylan managed to call his wife to tell her the girls’ location before a second explosion trapped him inside.

Rescue crews recovered Dylan’s body the next day,

and his daughters’ bodies later that night.

Officials declared a disaster and launched investigations.

The Nebraska Fire Marshal confirmed the blast was caused by dust ignition,

while OSHA began its six-month probe.

Records show Horizon Biofuels had prior safety violations, including wood dust accumulation and inadequate hazard training,

and had suffered a smaller fire in 2014. The recent explosion destroyed the plant’s elevator tower completely.

Family, friends, and schools have paid heartfelt tributes. Hayven’s school described her as a bright,

caring spirit, while Fayeah’s was remembered for her dynamic personality and ever-present smile.

Local wrestling clubs, classmates, and neighbors have offered condolences,

and GoFundMe pages have raised thousands to help the families.

The tragedy has deeply shaken the small community,

with many praising Dylan as a devoted father who adored his children.

“They were good kids. He was such a good daddy,” his aunt said.

As investigations continue, the town grieves the irreplaceable loss of three lives taken far too soon in what could prove to be a preventable disaster.
