Elon Musk surprises everyone just as Congress approves Trump’s so-called ‘big beautiful bill.’

Elon Musk Slams Trump as ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ Passes Congress

Elon Musk has taken a sharp jab at former ally Donald Trump after Congress approved the president’s much-hyped “big, beautiful bill.”

Trump Claims Victory in Congress

On July 3, the House of Representatives, led by Republicans, passed the controversial bill by a narrow 218–214 vote. Trump had spent months touting the proposal, promising it would deliver tax breaks he had pledged during his 2024 campaign.

However, the bill comes with steep consequences. It cuts health and food safety programs, including Medicaid—a move that could strip nearly 12 million Americans of health insurance, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Additionally, it’s projected to add $3.4 trillion to the national debt over the next decade.

Musk Turns on Trump

Once a vocal Trump supporter, Musk has broken ranks. He blasted the bill as “utterly insane and destructive.”

Before the bill’s approval, Musk posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the legislation would “destroy millions of jobs in America” and “cause immense strategic harm.” He also accused it of favoring outdated industries while crippling innovation.

After the bill passed, Musk didn’t hold back:

“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.”

Musk Throws Support Behind Thomas Massie
Following the bill’s approval, former Rep. Justin Amash urged Musk to back Rep. Thomas Massie, one of just two Republicans who voted against it. Musk immediately responded, “I will.”

When another user mentioned donating to Massie’s campaign, Musk replied:

“Me.”

Who Is Thomas Massie?

Massie, who represents Kentucky’s 4th congressional district, has repeatedly stood up to Trump. He opposed Trump’s decision to strike Iran, calling it “not Constitutional.” Trump, in return, has branded Massie a “pathetic loser” and promised to campaign hard against him in the upcoming primaries.

Massie welcomed Musk’s support, telling Fox News Digital:

“Elon’s purchase of Twitter and cultivation of the X platform for free speech has already helped my cause immensely. It’s allowed me to bypass the media and expose the truth about these bills.”

He added that the backlash over his stance on the bill isn’t just about policy—it’s about independence:

“This re-election is a referendum on whether members of Congress can think and act independently—or just rubber-stamp their party’s agenda.”
