We live in a fairly quiet neighborhood where usually nothing special happens.
But last week, all the neighbors were truly shocked.
One of our neighbors, while walking her dog, noticed strange clusters of small black eggs in the yard.
They looked like shiny beads stuck together and immediately caused concern.
At first, we thought it might be something harmless — maybe seeds, trash, or insect eggs.
But the more we looked, the stronger the feeling of danger grew: these eggs were too dense, strangely shiny, and located right at the edge of the lawn where children and pets often play.
One of the neighbors called a pest control specialist. After inspecting the find, he gave a chilling verdict: these were tick eggs.
The expert explained that ticks are not just annoying parasites.
They transmit serious diseases, including Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
The larvae that hatch from these eggs can quickly find hosts among pets or people.
We were told that tick eggs are usually very small, about 0.5 mm, and resemble poppy seeds.
They often hide in grass tufts, under leaves, or in wood piles. That’s why finding such eggs should never be ignored.
To get rid of them, the specialist recommended:
Remove all leaves and debris around the area where the eggs were found Consult a veterinarian to treat your pets Plant plants that repel ticks, such as rosemary, chrysanthemums, or mint Keep the lawn well-trimmed Move wood piles away from the house
If you ever see similar strange clusters, don’t hesitate — better safe than sorry, and call in experts rather than facing serious consequences later.
