Omaha QT Shooting Shock: Officers Ambushed Inside Gas Station

What should have been a

normal afternoon at the QuikTrip on 32nd and

L Streets turned into a chaotic

police emergency that has shaken the entire area.

Police say two officers were injured,

though their injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

But the real shock came during

the press briefing held right outside the scene.

According to WOWT’s reporting, Chief Todd Schmaderer confirmed the man who died was suspected

in a shooting earlier

that day at Phil’s Foodway — where

a man in his 50s was shot

in the chest multiple times around noon.

Officers tracked the suspect to the QT restroom.

The moment he stepped out,

the chief says, he opened fire on police immediately.

The investigation is still active,

and details about what happened

inside that bathroom remain limited.

Residents nearby want answers,

and police are still piecing together the full timeline.
