Three Young Sisters, Who Vanished After Planned Visitation With Their Father, Found Dead, Police Release Details

Three little girls were found dead in a tragic case that has shocked Washington state. Olivia, 5; Evelyn, 8; and Paityn Decker, 9, vanished after a scheduled weekend visit with their father, Travis Decker.

When he failed to return them home on time, their mother contacted police—an act that would soon uncover one of the most heartbreaking stories of the year.

Their bodies were discovered near Rock Island Campground, close to where Travis’s abandoned truck was located. Authorities revealed the girls had been zip-tied and suffocated with plastic bags.

Police now believe they were murdered by their father, who is currently on the run and considered armed and dangerous. Travis, a 32-year-old former military member with survival skills and no fixed residence, is wanted on multiple counts of aggravated murder and kidnapping.

The girls were reported missing on May 30 when their father ignored the court-ordered return deadline. The search ended on June 2 with the devastating discovery of their bodies. Police are now pleading with the public to share any information that could help track down Travis Decker.

Meanwhile, the girls’ mother, Whitney Decker, is left grieving the unimaginable loss of all three of her children. A GoFundMe page set up to support her has already raised over $330,000 to help with legal and funeral expenses and to allow Whitney time to mourn and recover without financial pressure.

But the heartbreak doesn’t end there.

Just a week earlier, another tragedy unfolded in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A house fire led to the discovery of three bodies—Stephen and Marcia Bockemeier, both in their seventies, and their 48-year-old son Erik.

Shortly after, the body of another family member, 35-year-old Andrew Bockemeier, was found outside the State Bar of New Mexico. He had taken his own life after allegedly killing his parents and brother. A matching firearm was found at both scenes. Authorities suspect mental health struggles and family tensions contributed to the deadly outcome. A note was recovered, but the details remain confidential as the investigation continues.

And just days before that, across the globe in Buenos Aires, another family was torn apart in a horrifying domestic incident.

The bodies of a couple and their two sons, aged 15 and 12, were found in their apartment. Investigators believe the mother, Laura Fernanda Leguizamón, fatally stabbed her husband and children before taking her own life. A cryptic letter was found in the kitchen, and while there was no sign of forced entry or previous reports of domestic violence, police confirmed Laura had been under psychiatric care and may have stopped taking her medication.

Each of these tragedies shares a common thread: families shattered by violence from within. In every case, those closest to the victims say there were few warning signs—just ordinary lives interrupted by extraordinary pain.

As communities mourn and authorities search for answers, these stories serve as haunting reminders of the silent battles so many face. If you or someone you know is struggling, resources are available. Don’t wait for signs—reach out, speak up, and listen closely. Lives may depend on it.
