When my mother-in-law, Linda, asked to take my kids for the weekend, I said yes — even though my German Shepherd, Daisy, reacted strangely

. Normally calm and friendly, Daisy began growling and pacing when Linda arrived.

She barked frantically as my kids got into Linda’s car,

and she stayed by the door for hours afterward, whining and howling.

By evening, my gut told me something was wrong. Linda wasn’t answering her phone,

I drove to Linda’s house, expecting to find them watching TV or playing games.
