A birthday celebration meant to bring joy to a family in Stockton, California,

 ended in heartbreaking tragedy on March 5, 2026.

 balloons, and children playing quickly turned into chaos when gunfire suddenly erupted during the event.

 Authorities reported that at least four people were killed and several others were injured, leaving a quiet neighborhood shaken by an unexpected act of violence.
