A Father’s Surprising Act On A Flight: A Tale of Petty Justice

To deal with unruly behavior, a little bit of revenge, sometimes, can go a long way – even in the friendly skies. One Reddit user shared a story on Reddit’s “pettyrevenge” subreddit that proves just that.

The incident occurs during a flight back from India, with the Redditor and her father as passengers. They little knew that they are about to experience an irritating encounter with a family seated behind them.

Just minutes into the flight, a kid seated directly behind the Redditor starts kicking her seat. Now, please note that this wasn’t a small child – the boy was around 9 or 10 years old.

The Redditor promptly informs her father, and he then politely asks the boy to stop. However, his compliance only lasts for a mere 10 seconds before the kicking resumes.

Frustrated by the continuous disturbance, the Redditor’s father makes a decision to take matters into his own hands.

He reclines his seat as far back as it can go, much to the displeasure of the family behind them. When they request him to put the seat back up, he simply refuses. For illustration purpose only
In the Redditor’s own words, she playfully refers to the father of the unruly child as “Jerk Dad.”

The tension escalates as an interaction between Jerk Dad and a flight attendant unfolds. Jerk Dad complains to the flight attendant about the reclined seat, hoping to find an ally in his discomfort. However, he receives an unexpected response.

Having witnessed the whole situation, the flight attendant sides with the Redditor’s father. She says to Jerk Dad that if her dad wants to keep his seat down, it’s within his rights to do so. With a smug grin, the flight attendant leaves Jerk Dad fuming and muttering under his breath.

Everything doesn’t end there.

The parents of the unruly child seem to grasp the gravity of the situation.

They exchange some harsh whispers and manage in order to convince their son to stop kicking the seat. However, their icy glares towards the Redditor, her father, and the flight attendant reveal their frustration and defeat.

For another hour, the Redditor’s father continues to keep his seat reclined, just to ensure that the parents truly learn their lesson.

And with that, justice is served at 30,000 feet.Sometimes, a little bit of petty revenge can be the best way to restore order in an otherwise chaotic situation.

Though the Redditor and her father may have endured some uncomfortable moments, their story serves as a light-hearted reminder that sometimes, justice can come in unexpected and satisfying ways.

So, the next time you find yourself faced with an unruly passenger on a flight, remember this tale of petty revenge and perhaps you’ll find some inspiration for dealing with the situation
