According to the police account, information gathered at the residence raised concerns that Kodie might harm herself.
She had left her phone and shoes behind, and authorities believed she was traveling on foot. An Amber Alert followed.
Baraboo police searched the surrounding area, with assistance from the Baraboo Fire Department and Wisconsin Dells K-9 teams.
On July 7, authorities confirmed that Kodie’s body had been located
at approximately 11 a.m. near 11th Street and County Highway T, close to her home.
The information provided did not establish a cause of death.
What began as an urgent effort to bring a
child home safely ended with confirmation of the loss of a young life.
