At the Dolby Theatre on March 15, 2026, Hawn wore a floor-length black gown with silver embroidery, long opera gloves, and softly waved blonde hair. She posed with daughter Kate Hudson and attended alongside longtime partner Kurt Russell. For many fans, the couple embodied enduring movie-star appeal: one Facebook commenter called them “the best dressed at the Oscars.” Hudson was nominated for Best Actress, with the award ultimately going to Jessie Buckley for Hamnet.

Elsewhere, comments focused on Hawn’s mouth and tongue movements rather than her outfit, while supporters praised her elegance and charisma. The contrast put admiration alongside unkind scrutiny on a celebratory night. Hawn’s own Oscar story stretches back to 1970, when she won for Cactus Flower but missed the ceremony while filming in London. Decades later, she returned as a celebrated performer and proud mother, with a legacy far bigger than the comments beneath a video.
