What she got was betrayal. Just two weeks after losing Tom,

Megan was doing everything she could to stay strong for their three kids.

She was running on autopilot—dropping them off at school, holding back tears,

trying to be the rock they needed. At the lawyer’s office, she expected a familiar face.

Instead, she was met by Jennifer, a polished young woman

Megan had never heard of. Jennifer introduced herself as Tom’s attorney. Then came the bombshell:

Tom had left everything to her—not to Megan, not to his children, but to Jennifer.

The lawyer. And, as Megan instantly suspected, his mistress. Jennifer didn’t deny it. “He loved me,” she said with that same smug smile.

Megan was crushed—and things only got worse.

That same day, a man showed up on her doorstep with an eviction notice. She had seven days to leave the home she’d built with Tom.

But then, hope appeared in the most unexpected place. While cleaning out Tom’s closet,

Megan found an envelope with her name on it. Inside was a letter from Tom—and a second will. In the letter

, Tom admitted he’d grown suspicious of Jennifer and had created a new will, leaving everything to Megan and their kids.

He begged her to find a lawyer she could trust. Fueled by grief and fury,

Megan hired Carol, a no-nonsense attorney with a reputation for justice. Within days, the truth came out in court:

Jennifer had forged the will and tried to steal everything. The court sided with Megan. Jennifer was stripped of the inheritance, disbarred,

and charged with fraud. Megan kept her home, her savings, and, most importantly, her dignity.

One quiet Sunday morning, as the kids played in the yard and sunlight danced through the trees, Megan sat on the porch with a warm coffee in her hands.

She looked to the sky and whispered,

“We’re going to be okay.” Because they would be. They already were.
