subreddit about a heartbreaking experience during a family vacation on August 6, 2022.

She explained that her husband’s family planned the trip but didn’t invite her.

Out of curiosity, she asked her husband if she could join, and though hesitant, he agreed.

On the third day, while preparing fruit salad, she overheard her mother-in-law say,

“Did she really have nowhere else to spend the weekend?”

To her shock, her husband replied, “I KNOW! I didn’t want to bring her,

but what was I supposed to do? You know how pushy she can get.”

Devastated to hear them talk about her,

especially after she had spent the trip cooking, cleaning, and caring for the kids, she bought a ticket and went home immediately.

Her husband later called her actions “disrespectful and juvenile,”

blaming her for eavesdropping and “forcing” herself on the trip.

He insisted his family needed time to warm up to her and accused her of giving them a bad impression.
